Program Introduction

Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety Program, basic nuclear structure, radiation sources and application areas, radiation shielding principles, biological effects of radiation, radioactive materials and waste management, applied health physics, reactor theory and operation, national and international nuclear regulations and legislation. It trains qualified and expert intermediate staff who have knowledge and skills in industrial applications of nuclear technologies, have the awareness of working in the fields of radiation, and have the ability to understand new technologies and apply them to existing problems.

The main employment areas of the graduates of the program are:

Radioisotope production centers, State hospitals and private hospitals, Calibration companies Radioactive material producers or institutions and organizations that provide services or services using radioactive sources.

Program Interests and Aims

One of the aims of our program is to train intermediate staff and radiation safety technicians for the nuclear power plants to be established to meet the energy needs of our country.

Content of the Education Provided in the Program

Learning the principles of working with natural and artificial radiation sources and methods of protection from radiation sources.

Foundation Year

Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety Program started education in 2013-2014 academic year with 40 students. It had its first graduates in the 2014-2015 academic year.
